Emily's Mother's Day Family Session

Through the intimate nature of my photography process, I become close friends with a lot of my clients, but when one of my close friends becomes a client...well, that's downright magical! I met Emily right before we had kids. We became really close after we got pregnant within a year of each other...twice! Their family has since moved to another part of the country, so when Em reached out about doing a Mother's Day session, I was very excited to see everyone!

Emily and her sweet little living, breathing, dancing, laughing, loving family did a grandparents tour. They first visited Grandpa in Florida and then traveled to central Illinois to visit Grandma for Mother’s Day. The photo session was a gift for Emily's mom, Therese, who is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. This Mother’s Day session was the perfect gift for this special lady. In fact, I can’t think of a single mother who wouldn’t want some portraits taken with the most important little people in their lives.

This kind of a story, a story that spans the generations and the miles, is important for so many reasons...for everyone involved...even the photographer. Thanks for letting me capture this brief chapter of your story, and I already look forward to our next visit! Oh...and, Em, when you win the lottery and buy your own island, can I please come visit you there? You'll probably want to document that important chapter of your life through photography too, right? Stay tuned, everyone!
