Hudson's 6-Month Session

I'm so excited to share this cheery spring session with you! Some babies can be shy or cranky during their six-month sessions. They’ve become acutely aware of their surroundings, and sometimes they take a little while to warm up to the full-on sensory experience of an outdoor photo shoot. Thankfully, this wasn't the case with Hudson. He apparently has no fear and showed off that handsome little smile of his in nearly every photo! I know that, if he had gotten a little fussy, his mommy, Megan, was ready to sing his favorite calming song, "You Are My Sunshine." Lucky for us, his bright blue eyes lit up the day!

I have enjoyed working with and getting to know this special family since 2017 when they were expecting their first child, Hudson's big sister, Brinley. Brinley absolutely adores Hudson. The two already have a bond that I feel privileged to capture! On top of Brinley's ability to make Hudson laugh more than anyone else can, Megan shared with me that Brinley wants to help with any and all tasks when it comes to taking care of Hudson, and that she is so proud to tell others about her baby brother. I look forward to sharing their bond with you through photography for years to come. Simply adorable!

I always appreciate learning what things parents hope to pass along to their children. Hudson's daddy, Mat, can't wait to introduce Hudson to all the outdoorsy activities he enjoys such as hunting, camping, fishing and shooting...things that he used to enjoy doing with his own father before he passed. Mat is the cool, calm, level-headed rock of this growing family, and Megan hopes Hudson will learn these important traits from his dad. I also loved hearing Megan's sentiments that, personality-wise, she can already tell their two kiddos are night-and-day opposites, but how Hudson has just fit so nicely into their overall family dynamic from the moment he was born. She also shared that she hopes Hudson learns to love and serve others just as she tries to do in her own daily life.

From a photographer's standpoint, these milestone sessions are some of my favorite. I get to see these littles grow and change over the course of a year, and in this family's case, over the course of several years. High school sweethearts Mat and Megan began dating 16 years ago, and this October, they'll have been together (dating and married combined) just as long as they were not together. What an amazing story to tell! Hudson is now part of a lifelong love story that grows stronger with each passing year. Thank you for allowing me to help tell such a beautiful story!
