State Farm insurance agent, Karen Burtis, is a busy woman. A Maryland native, she now splits her time between the Peoria area and Maryland since last year when she married her central-Illinoisan husband, Jeff, who is also a State Farm agent. When she was in the market for some updated headshots, a friend of ours and colleague of hers, Andrea Davis, suggested that she get in touch with me. I just love referral business! It really is such a wonderful compliment when I learn that a friend or former client has suggested my services to a friend, family member or colleague. Thanks for the referral, Andrea!
Karen always knew she was meant to choose a career that involves helping people. Her father is a State Farm agent, and her mother works in the office with him. Her family just seems to have a knack for being prepared for the unexpected. She began her insurance career in 1999, and she has truly enjoyed every minute of it. For anyone located in Maryland, Delaware or Pennsylvania who may be reading this post, please do not hesitate to visit Karen’s website (www.KarensGotMe.com) for contact information and to find out how she can help you meet your insurance needs.
Because Karen was on a tight schedule, we had to move quickly to get her headshots knocked out while she was in town recently. Despite her self-proclaimed ponytail-wearing tomboy status, fun and bubbly Karen opted to use our in-house hair and makeup services courtesy of Mel Randleman of Aesthetic Ink by Mel. Thanks, Mel, for sharing your talents with us for this session. We look forward to collaborating with Mel on some other really fun projects in the very near future. Stay tuned!
When she’s not at the office meeting with customers or enroute between central Illinois and Maryland, Karen can be found spending quality time with her husband and their three kids/step-kids, two of which have followed in their State Farm footsteps. Karen and Jeff enjoy traveling, collecting wine, and working out on a regular basis. She makes a conscious effort to live life to the fullest with the people who matter most. I was happy to help capture her personality in these beautiful headshots.
