I LOVE PLANTS! I have lots of them. So, when Sunita, a fellow plant-lover, knocked on my front door as a census taker, she noticed all of my plants! There was really nothing else we could do but sit on my front porch for an hour discussing our green thumbs. As we became fast friends, she told me she had written a plant book and needed promotional photos. Photos AND plants...the universe had obviously aligned us!
Being that this was a promotional session, and she is a writer...who better to tell her story than Sunita herself! Here is a short excerpt from her bio, which can be found on her new website and blog, "A Literary Gardener."
My journey to this moment has been one with many twists and turns. But the two interests - writing and gardening that I have ended up with, attracted me from my childhood. I remember I enjoyed picking up “nature” things as a child – a smooth rock, a feather, a distinctly-shaped leaf. Also, I thought I wanted to be a writer in the eighth grade. My teacher at that time encouraged me and said I could become an author when I got older.
Sunita is a special educator by training and runs a not-for-profit that supports a school for children with special needs in India. She lives in Washington with her husband. When she's not writing, much of Sunita's time is spent tending to her home which has a large, sprawling yard. She has a son and daughter-in-law living close by and a grandson who has enhanced her life immeasurably.
Sunita's life journey is simply amazing, and I feel so fortunate that our paths have crossed. Be sure to check out Sunita's new site and her books at https://www.literary-gardener.com/.
